Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle seeks a Statistical Programmer III/IV to provide statistical programming expertise within SCHARP, coordinating with statisticians to write efficient, reusable code for data analyses and reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Statistics, Computer Science, or related fields.
• 4 years of experience as SAS or R programmer on PC/Unix.
• Knowledge of biostatistics or statistical analyses in a clinical trials setting.
• Advanced SAS or R programming skills.
• Ability to use scripting languages for text manipulation and automated job control.

Responsibilities

• Gather and document requirements for developing or modifying programs and systems.
• Define and edit mock tables, listings and figures (TLFs) and analysis dataset specifications.
• Generate, document, and maintain analysis datasets.
• Develop scripts for data wrangling and transformation.
• Create ad hoc and study-specific reports; cross-study reporting may occur.
• Test and debug programs and maintain version control on production programs and scripts.
• Develop and update standard work instructions and processes across studies.
• Contribute to automation of routine analysis data and reporting tasks.
• Collaborate with clinical and statistical teams to resolve data quality and analysis issues.
• Mentor junior Statistical Programmers and provide training as needed.
