With 64 television stations in 51 U.S. markets, TEGNA reaches more than 100 million people monthly across the web, mobile apps, streaming, and linear television. Together, we are building a sustainable future for local news.

We are seeking a dynamic, full‑time TV Broadcast and Digital Programming Specialist located within a TEGNA television market to manage our multimedia content strategy. You will oversee the scheduling, curation, and distribution of content across traditional television channels and digital streaming platforms. The ideal candidate will seamlessly bridge the gap and communicate between programming and other disciplines by leveraging Titan TV MediaStar Scheduler alongside the WideOrbit Traffic platform to ensure accurate programming and digital schedules, maximizing commercial inventory for sales, and communicating with internal and external disciplines.

Responsibilities
  • Log & Schedule Syncing: Build, maintain, and merge daily programming grids in Titan TV MediaStar Scheduler and reconcile them directly with the WideOrbit Traffic system for broadcast.
  • Broadcast Operations: Identify need for program preemption notifications associated with children’s programming (crawls); follow‑up on impacted regular programming when breaking news or severe weather coverage occurs; coordinate with GM, news, sales, TCO and TSC on station contingency planning particularly as it relates to network live sports and/or local sports.
  • Inventory/Format Management: Coordinate with the sales team to resolve program timing discrepancies, manage formats, and maximize revenue.
  • Real‑Time Guide Publishing: Manage and update real‑time schedules to broadcast PSIP, NextGen TV ESG data services, and digital program guides.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Manage and fulfill FCC Children’s Reporting requirements (E/I programming) and commercial certification associated with E/I programming.
  • Contract Compliance: Track syndicated content rights and contract windows across platforms to ensure accuracy with contractual obligations.
  • Data Verification: Generate operational as‑run templates and audit historical programming logs for billing and regulatory archives.
Qualifications
  • Communication and Organization: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict‑resolution skills; solid organization and time management in a fast‑paced, multi‑tasking environment; detail oriented and ability to multi‑task.
  • Location Requirement: Must reside in, or be willing to relocate to, an active TEGNA television market.
  • Experience: 3+ years in television programming, master control, or media traffic operations.
  • Technical Software: Mandatory, hands‑on proficiency with Titan TV MediaStar Scheduler and WideOrbit Traffic systems and TEGNA’s in‑house tool, Pulse.
  • Desktop Applications: Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel formulas, Outlook calendar management, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of FCC compliance requirements for PSIP metadata, FCC Children’s Reporting requirements, and commercial timing limits.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong capability to cross‑reference multiple software databases to pinpoint and correct scheduling errors.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
