Job summary

State of Nevada’s Division of Child and Family Services is recruiting for a full-time Social Services Manager 5. The position may be located in Carson City or Las Vegas, overseeing statewide victim services programs and budgeting, reporting, and policy development.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in social work or related field and at least five years of progressive experience, including two years in a supervisory role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and five years of progressively responsible experience implementing social service programs; coordinating with officials and other agencies.
• Two years of the experience must have been at a managerial level with supervision of subordinate supervisors.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.

Responsibilities

• Manage activities and operations of a social services district or regional office and satellites, ensuring goals are met and programs comply with regulations.
• Participate in statewide program planning and management meetings; implement new programs; review policies and procedures; report data and advise administration.
• Supervise subordinate supervisors and staff; interview, hire, train, and evaluate performance; establish work standards and delegate responsibilities.
• Represent the division in the community to address needs, engage with boards, and coordinate with providers and officials to resolve issues.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in social work, health or social science, public administration or related field
