Job summary

Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is seeking a Stream Habitat Supervisor based in Brainerd to lead statewide efforts in salmonid management and stream habitat conservation. The role supports flexible telework up to 50% and requires directing programs, coordinating projects, and partnering with agencies and the public.

You will supervise staff, manage budgets, develop regulations and proposals, and work with fellow agencies to advance habitat goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biology, fisheries, or closely related field.
• Four years of professional experience in fisheries biology and management.
• Experience using databases, spreadsheets and word processing software.
• Ability to communicate effectively and build partnerships to achieve conservation goals.

Responsibilities

• Lead statewide salmonid management by directing program activities and priorities.
• Oversee stream habitat improvement projects including dam removal and modification.
• Manage statewide habitat projects as principal investigator and project leader.
• Provide supervision and budgeting oversight while building a motivated team.
