Job summary

South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice is seeking a qualified professional to develop internal processes ensuring optimal treatment services for youth identified as having SMI or SQD. You will coordinate with multiple agencies and serve as the point of contact for admissions to PRTFs.

The role requires bachelor’s degree and relevant experience in human services, with strong writing, communication, and advocacy skills. Some travel and after-hours availability are expected.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of the justice, mental health, and social services practices for juveniles.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to advocate for and facilitate interagency staffing to ensure youth mental health needs are addressed.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and tracks youth with SMI/SQD and ensures timely transfers.
• Facilitates interagency and court-ordered staffings for youth with special needs.
• Provides documentation of staffings, visits, and collaboration efforts.
