Job summary

State of Georgia seeks a Safety Inspector (Statewide) to perform inspections for compliance with policy, regulations, and safety codes related to elevators, rides, and boilers. The role ensures public safety by evaluating facilities, collecting data, and coordinating audits across the state.

Under supervision, you will interpret regulatory issues, train personnel, and use various instruments to document compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED AND one year of related experience.
• Some positions may require a valid driver's license.
• Some positions may require certification and/or licensure.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections for compliance with state and federal safety regulations and standards.
• Interpret and apply regulatory issues and technical data to ensure public safety.
• Plan and coordinate inspections and audits of facilities/sites for procedural compliance.
• Provide guidance and consultation on safety inspections and related activities.
• Utilize monitoring, sampling, and analytical equipment to gather data and maintain records.
• Perform training, data management, and equipment maintenance.
