Job summary

The New Mexico Department of Health, Public Health Division, seeks a Medical Director for CALH to lead clinical services across public health offices statewide. You will guide clinical care quality, protocols, and program oversight.

The role emphasizes supervising pharmacy operations, developing standing orders, and advancing priority programs such as opioid use disorder treatment and primary care, with statewide collaboration and occasional after-hours on-call coverage.

Qualifications

• Requires an MD or DO, licensure and four (4) years of experience as it pertains to the essential duties and responsibilities of the classification.
• Experience supervising clinical services and coordinating public health programs is preferred.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to engage senior leadership on clinical topics.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain clinical protocols and standing orders to ensure high-quality care.
