Job summary

Bureau of Land Management in Utah seeks a senior leader for its uniformed law enforcement program. You will direct statewide LE operations, act as the program expert, and collaborate with federal, state and local partners to uphold public land laws.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading law enforcement on public lands and coordinating with multiple agencies.
  • Ability to develop and implement LE policy and procedures.
  • Strong background in staffing, budgeting, and program oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Provide program direction, management and leadership to the BLM uniformed law enforcement component statewide.
  • Serve as technical expert and authority on all aspects of the uniformed law enforcement program.
  • Develop and make recommendations to management regarding policy and procedures.
  • Coordinate statewide staffing and budgeting plans for the LE program with senior management and resource specialists.
  • Act as statewide coordinator for the law enforcement Field Training and Evaluation Program.
  • Interact with officials from Federal agencies, state government, counties and police chiefs.
  • Enforce federal laws and regulations on public land and resources; conduct investigations and make enforcement contacts.
  • Assign, direct, train, evaluate staff; handle selections, promotions and disciplinary actions.
