Job summary

Cdcheadstart is seeking an STNA to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate health services for children in Head Start. You will coordinate sensory screenings, manage entries in the MIS, and follow up on referrals to ensure timely care.

Required CNA certification and a high school diploma or GED, with NATCEP completion and active Nurse Aide Registry status. Experience with children aged 6 weeks to 5 years is highly preferred; role involves collaboration with families and healthcare providers.

## DescriptionThe STNA is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive health services in accordance with Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS), and other federal, state, and local requirements.The STNA has the following essential functions and responsibilities:* Participates in the agency's mass screenings (e.g., medical, dental) and ensures timely completion of sensory screenings as required (e.g., 30-, 45-, and 90-day screenings), referrals, and adequate follow-ups with suspected or identified health concerns.* Develops and monitors the completion of required sensory screenings and enters information into the management information system (MIS).* Enters information from sensory screenings in the MIS.* Makes a referral for children who failed screenings (e.g., vision, hearing, growth assessment) and completes follow-ups as outlined in the policies and procedures* Acts as a liaison between the center, parents, and medical professionals to schedule appointments and follow up on medical and dental treatment.* Assists with completing the quarterly health checklist and enters the information into the MIS.* Maintains up-to-date health and immunization records and ensures that physical and dental exams comply with HSPPS.* Attends the department's staff meeting or other meetings as required (e.g., CFR).* Attends the Health and Mental Health Services Advisory Committee (HMHSAC) meetings that occur three times a year.* Provides a monthly report to the Supervisor that accurately reflects health services information.* Ensures compliance with the overall health services for children as recommended by the early and periodic screening, diagnosis, and treatment (EPSDT).* Identifies and utilizes state and local resources for the department and provides materials/resources to assist parents and staff with understanding specific health topics, considering health literacy.* Maintains confidentiality regarding program and staff issues.* Represents the agency at local, regional, and state meetings, conferences, in-services, boards, councils, and events as needed* Performs other work-related duties as assigned (e.g., staff and parent training, writing newsletters).## Qualifications* An Active CNA Certification and a high school diploma or GED.* Must successfully complete a state-approved Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program (NATCEP) and be in good standing on your state's Nurse Aide Registry (e.g., the Ohio Department of Health registry)* Experience working with children from 6 weeks of age to 5 years of age is strongly preferred
