Job summary

DEKRA North America, Inc. seeks a State Manager, Automotive Inspections to lead operations across the state network, driving profitability, safety, and customer experience.

You will manage Area and Station Managers, oversee budgeting, and align with enterprise strategy while engaging regulators and stakeholders. This role emphasizes financial discipline, regulatory compliance, and people leadership in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Associate/bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of three years of emissions testing, safety inspection, automotive services, or related regulated‑industry experience.
• Valid emissions/safety inspection license as required by the state program.
• Proven ability to manage P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
• Experience leading dispersed teams and driving performance against targets.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership for automotive inspection programs and the station network.
• Own financial performance, including revenue, EBIT, labor costs, and expenses.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting; analyze P&L and variances.
• Develop and oversee performance-management systems and KPIs.
• Drive continuous improvement and standardize best practices across locations.
• Ensure compliance with state/federal regulations and DEKRA policies.
• Foster a high‑performance, safety‑focused, inclusive culture.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve complex issues.
