Job summary

RSM US LLP is seeking interns to work with both large and small clients across industries, gaining hands-on experience in state and local tax services. Interns engage in tax planning, research, and evaluating tax software while building relationships with client teams.

You will collaborate on multiple engagements, learn how to integrate tax processes, and contribute to identifying efficiencies that reduce tax exposure, all within a mutually supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• 90 credit hours completed.
• Working towards B.A./B.S. degree or equivalent from accredited university.
• Accounting major.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Travel to assigned client locations is required.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Integrating state and local tax services with existing clients.
• Completing tax planning and research tasks.
• Developing an understanding of state and local tax regulations and accounting pronouncements.
• Reviewing client’s current tax processes to identify inefficiencies and provide enhancements to improve procedures and reduce tax exposure.
• Working with client IT personnel to obtain data of historical purchasing and sales for reporting, auditing, and refund/credit review.
• Assisting the client with evaluating sales/use tax software systems that meet their compliance needs and support the implementation process.
