Job summary

CLA is seeking a Controller in St. Louis, MO for our Client Accounting & Advisory Services group focusing on State & Local Government.

The role will oversee Controller functions for designated clients and serve as an advisor on accounting and finance best practices, with travel to client sites as needed. The ideal candidate has 6+ years of accounting experience, a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, CPA preferred, and a solid knowledge of government accounting standards.

Qualifications

• 6 years of relevant accounting and/or financial experience.
• Experience in State & Local Government preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA preferred but not required.
• Willingness to travel locally to client sites.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Controller for the designated clients you service.
• Advise clients on accounting and finance best practices.
• Manage multiple client projects and deadlines.
• Prepare and analyze client financial statements.
• Foster opportunities for our clients, communities, and people.
• Attend industry events and trainings.
• Maintain knowledge of policies and current accounting standards.
