Job summary

Progressive regional CPA firm is seeking an Audit Director with a State and Local Government specialization to accelerate toward partnership in a balanced, hybrid work setting. Relocation assistance is available to the right candidate.

The role leads engagements, mentors staff, and ensures GAAS/Yellow Book compliance while building client relationships across public sector accounts in Oregon. Travel to client sites is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Approximately 10 years' experience in public accounting and a minimum of 2 years in a senior manager position, with significant experience in the public sector auditing state and local governments.
• Ability to travel to client and firm office locations.
• Demonstrated ability to bring in new business to a CPA Firm.
• Experience with GAAS, GAAP and GAGAS/Yellow Book audits.
• Strong leadership and staff development capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintains contact with clients throughout the year; develops strong relationships and knowledge of client operations.
• Leads or reports to the engagement partner on engagements and signs attest opinions when assigned.
• Oversees all phases of engagements and ensures compliance with applicable standards and firm policy.
• Informs engagement Partner of developments and addresses issues with partner guidance.
• Ensures proper scheduling of engagements and manages billing and collections.
• Acts as a subject matter expert for governmental sector audits and client development.
• Supervises staff, provides on-the-job training, and participates in performance evaluations.
• Participates in recruitment and interviews for Assurance and Advisory roles.
• Represents the firm in business development and generates client meetings and fee estimates.

Education

Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
