Colorado Division of Racing is seeking a State Regulatory Veterinarian to lead a team ensuring safety, health, and fairness in the racing industry. You will set standards for animal welfare and participate in regulatory decisions affecting racing practices in Colorado.

The role combines clinical oversight with administrative leadership, laboring between the Division of Racing offices and on-track facilities to maintain high ethical and safety standards across all activities.

Responsabilités

• Conduct pre-race inspections to ensure starters are fit to compete.
• Provide expert medical care on the track during critical moments.
• Monitor and control communicable equine diseases with the State Veterinarian and Dept. of Agriculture.
• Oversee the Division’s laboratory testing program (urine, blood, hair).
• Lead sample integrity and drug screening protocols as the gold standard.
