Job description

Position Summary:
  • PROtect LLC is seeking a State Carded RT Technician for a full-time, on-site position based in South Houston, Texas. The technician is responsible for performing industrial radiographic testing in accordance with state regulations, company procedures, and applicable industry standards.
  • The role involves setting up and operating radiographic equipment, following radiation safety protocols, and capturing and interpreting images to assess materials, welds, and components. The technician will also maintain inspection records, complete reports, communicate findings to project leads and clients, support equipment care and job planning, and participate in safety meetings and compliance initiatives.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform industrial radiographic testing in accordance with state regulations, company procedures, and applicable industry standards.
  • Set up and operate radiographic equipment.
  • Follow radiation safety protocols during RT operations.
  • Capture and interpret radiographic images to assess materials, welds, and components.
  • Maintain detailed inspection records.
  • Complete inspection reports accurately.
  • Communicate inspection findings to project leads and clients.
  • Assist with radiographic equipment care.
  • Support job planning and site preparation.
  • Participate in safety meetings and compliance initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of radiation safety practices, including the safe handling, storage, and operation of radiographic equipment.
  • Current or eligible certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or an equivalent state‑recognized credential.
  • Proficiency in Radiologic Technology and industrial radiology techniques used for nondestructive testing.
  • Understanding of the health implications associated with radiation exposure and commitment to protecting oneself and others.
  • Previous experience in industrial or nondestructive testing environments, preferably in oil and gas, refining, or related industries.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures and maintain accurate documentation under time constraints.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with diverse teams and clients.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical training or vocational education in radiologic technology or NDT is preferred.
Requirements:
  • Valid state radiography card.
  • Ability to meet all regulatory requirements for radiographic testing operations.
  • Ability to work in field environments, including confined spaces or elevated areas.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment as required.
  • Ability to work full-time in an on-site role based in South Houston, Texas.
