Job summary

Delcastle Golf Course in Wilmington, DE, operated by Troon, is seeking a motivated Starter to guide players to the first tee and help maintain a smooth pace of play. You will interact with guests, share course information, and assist with check‑in procedures in a fast-paced hospitality setting.

The ideal candidate is friendly, organized, and eager to learn, with strong communication skills and a customer‑oriented approach. Golf knowledge is a plus but not required for consideration.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain professional appearance.
• Provide information regarding the golf course, play time and other golf related issues.
• Provide customer service to arriving guests to help expedite check‑in process.
• Verify that all revenues have been properly recorded by inspecting receipts for all players before they begin play on the golf course.
• Keep golf shop personnel informed regarding pace of play off the first tee.
• Supply guests with scorecards, pencils and other items if needed.
• Advise guests of course conditions and expected pace of play.
• Implement and support all course policies and programs as communicated by management.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast‑paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you’ll contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.

Ideal candidates are friendly and organized, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. Golf Course Starters provide guest services by guiding players to the first tee at appropriate times and controlling a smooth pace of play on the golf course. Beginners are welcome – while knowledge of golf is preferred, previous Golf Course Starting experience is not required for the position.
