Job summary

SpaceX in Hawthorne, CA is seeking a Supply Chain Planning Manager (Starship) to own end-to-end planning for sub-assemblies and finished goods, coordinating with engineering, production, and procurement to scale Starship production.

The role requires advanced degree or extensive experience, strong risk management, and the ability to drive cost, reliability, and schedule improvements in a high-volume environment. Onsite in Hawthorne with travel up to 5%.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree with 3+ years in engineering, purchasing, material or production planning, operations or supply chain management, or Master production scheduling.
• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years in the same areas, or 9+ years of experience in those domains.
• Experience in high-volume industries and cross-functional NPI projects.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end planning for Starship sub-assemblies or finished goods, ensuring BOM accuracy and proper supply coverage.
• Coordinate with engineering, production, and procurement to align on goals and supplier plans.
• Balance cost, reliability, and production rate using risk-informed decisions in a dynamic NPI environment.
• Manage supply schedules for raw materials and finished goods to optimize inventory turns and prevent obsolescence.
• Communicate forecasts reflecting minimum requirements while hedging for changes in direction.
• Identify and mitigate multi-tier supply chain risks by coordinating with procurement, logistics, and engineering.
• Balance new product introduction with stable production and design changes for consistent build rates.
• Incorporate design/process changes into production without impacting throughput.
• Support insourcing where applicable to secure internal and external supply sources.
