Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an NDE Inspector for Starship to perform surface and volumetric inspections, interpret findings, and report to production and engineering teams. The role supports technique development for complex geometries and contributes to system qualification.

The candidate will assist in training others and work within an inter-disciplinary NDE Operations group. Strong aerospace NDE experience and Level II certification are required, with readiness to work overtime to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• NDE Level II certification per ASNT TC-1A NAS-410 or DOD in ET/RT/DR/PT/VT/CR/PAUT/UT/UTSW/MT
• Operational NDE experience on weldments is preferred
• Experience with aerospace NDE testing
• Knowledge of NASA 5009 standards and AMS/AWS/ASME/ASTM
• Basic computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Responsibilities

• Perform surface and volumetric NDE inspections
• Interpret, evaluate, and report findings to production and engineering teams
• Interpret and review engineering drawings as required
• Support development of NDE inspection techniques for complex geometries
• Support R&D for system qualification and certification of critical processes
• Assist in training and developing others on the team
