Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Critical Lift & Transport Engineer (Starship) to join the Starbase, TX team. You will develop lift plans, rigging designs, and transport configurations for large-scale hardware, ensuring safety, compliance, and reliability across lifts and transports.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering and 2+ years of hands‑on mechanical/structural experience, with expertise in crane lifting, rigging, CAD tools, and FEA to support certification and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline required.
• 2+ years of hands-on mechanical and structural hardware experience required.
• Experience with crane lifting, rigging, or transport operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, analyze, and execute critical lifts and heavy-haul transports.
• Develop critical lift plans, rigging designs, and transport configurations.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams on mass properties and load paths.
• Specify and inspect lifting equipment and verify capacities.
• Conduct risk assessments and fatigue analyses for lifts.
• Oversee on-site operations and post-operation debriefs.
• Interface with vendors for equipment rentals and contracted operations.
• Maintain engineering calculations, drawings, and regulatory documentation.
