Job summary

SPACE EXPLORATION TECHNOLOGIES CORP is seeking an Avionics Systems Engineer for Starship to join a cross-functional team across design, production and operations. You will own cradle-to-grave avionics, addressing power distribution, vehicle networks, sensors, actuators and compute.

You will triage issues on tight schedules, support flight operations and help design new architectures to reduce mass, cost and labor while ensuring reliability in extreme environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering field, science, or math.
• 1+ years of experience with electrical component design, system level integration, or testing.
• 1+ years of experience using Matlab, C++ or Python.

Responsibilities

• Represent the Starship avionics system throughout all stages of integration from production to launch.
• Triage, troubleshoot, root cause, and repair electrical hardware issues on a production schedule.
• Support vehicle pad and flight operations as avionics operator for health evaluation and real-time issues.
• Contribute to new avionics architectures that minimize mass, cost, and labor.
