Job summary

Applegreen USA is seeking an Assistant General Manager to help the General Manager ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly across our travel plazas. This role offers an entry-level path into management with hands-on learning in a fast-paced retail and food service environment.

You will lead and develop a team, supervise associates, coach shift supervisors, uphold brand standards, manage cash and reports, and resolve issues to keep guests satisfied while maintaining safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years experience in quick-service restaurant or similar management operations.
• Strong leadership and management skills with a proven ability to motivate and inspire a team.
• Excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude.
• Strong verbal and communication skills with sharp business acumen.
• Flexible and open work schedule.
• Basic food safety understanding and practice.
• Ability and willingness to lift or push objects weighing over 30 lbs.

What You’ll Do

The Assistant General Manager helps the General Manager to ensure day‑to‑day business operations run smoothly. This position provides an opportunity for entry‑level managers to learn important management skills and practice judgment and discretion.

Role Priorities And Responsibilities

• Confidently deliver performance feedback, set goals, foster teamwork, and communicate business objectives.
• Supervise non‑management associates, assign work, focus on store performance, coach, and develop shift supervisors.
• Competently perform duties in the absence of the General Manager.
• Motivate and positively influence staff, especially during low morale.
• Demonstrate strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Address issues in a timely fashion.
• Ensure company policies and procedures are followed.
• Maintain awareness of all applicable brand standards and procedures to maximize brand, landlord, and labor relations.
• Maintain the restaurant’s cleanliness, appearance, and brand standards.
• Accurately manage cash and process daily reports as directed.
• Address customer needs, resolve issues, and build positive, long‑term relationships.
• Ensure inventory data is accurate through spot counts and checks.
