Job summary

Ameristar Manufacturing, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Tool and Die Team Member to support repair, maintenance, setup, and improvement of stamping and punch press tooling.

You will work closely with punch press operators and the Tool Room Manager to ensure tooling is production-ready and ready to run efficiently. The role exposes you to tooling design concepts and collaboration with engineering, tool repair, and hands-on creation, with opportunities to grow into advanced tooling, process

Qualifications

• Experience in tool and die repair, maintenance, or build in a stamping or punch press environment.
• Strong understanding of progressive, compound, and form tooling and punch press workflows.
• Solid mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to work closely with production teams in a fast-paced environment.
• CAD experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of compound, progressive, and form tooling.
• Support tooling for punch press operations (60-ton to 400-ton range) and ensure production readiness.
• Collaborate with operators and production leadership to identify tooling issues.
• Gain exposure to tool setups, changeovers, and adjustments.
• Diagnose root causes of tooling wear, failures, and inefficiencies.
• Assist in tool tryouts and bring new or modified tools into production.
• Communicate tooling issues and improvement ideas with tooling and design teams.
• Maintain tooling inventory, repair records, and maintenance schedules.
