Daimler Truck North America in Gastonia, NC is hiring a Metal Stamping Press Operator responsible for setting up, programming, and operating high-tonnage stamping presses to produce parts to spec.

You will interpret blueprints, perform tooling changes and inspections, ensure safety and quality, and maintain a clean, organized work area while supporting production goals and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Minimum two years of machining, metal fabrication, stamping, or related manufacturing experience.

We are seeking a skilled Metal Stamping Press Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will set up, program, troubleshoot high-tonnage metal stamping presses to produce high-quality production parts that meet engineering and customer specifications. Responsibilities include interpreting blueprints and manufacturing documentation, assisting with machine setups and conducting quality inspections, and ensuring safe, efficient operations. The successful candidate will maintain a clean and organized work environment while supporting production goals and continuous improvement initiatives.

What You Drive at DTNA

Set up and operate high-tonnage metal stamping presses to manufacture production parts. Assist with machine setups, minor program adjustments, and quality inspections while ensuring safety and product quality. Interpret blueprints and manufacturing documents to meet specifications, maintain a clean work area, and perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge You Should Bring

Minimum two years of machining, metal fabrication, Stamping, or related manufacturing experience.

Proficient in blueprint reading, GD&T, precision gaging, and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.

Ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment, perform quality inspections, and use precision measuring instruments to verify dimensional requirements.

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

Hands-on experience setting up, programming, and operating and troubleshooting high-tonnage metal stamping presses in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Proven ability to identify and correct stamping defects such as burrs, splits, wrinkles, dimensional variation, material feed issues, and die-related quality concerns.

Experience with coil-fed press lines, servo feeders, straighteners, decoilers, automated part handling systems, and press automation equipment.

Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot machine, tooling, setup, and dimensional issues while maintaining productivity and quality standards

Strong understanding of progressive dies, transfer dies, blanking, piercing, forming, and deep-draw stamping operations.

Extensive experience performing press adjustments, shut-height setup, die protection validation, and production start-up activities while maintaining safety and quality standards.
