  • Sort and separate acceptable parts from non-conforming ones based on quality criteria.
  • Record and report defective parts or recurring issues to the supervisor or quality team.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, disposing of scrap and debris properly.
  • Wear appropriate PPE and follow all safety guidelines related to press operations.
  • Support press changeovers by preparing materials and assisting operators as needed.
  • Participate in 5S and continuous improvement activities in the press shop.

Job Summary

General Service for the Press Department is responsible for catching, handling, and inspecting stamped automotive parts as they exit press machines. This role plays a critical part in maintaining production flow and ensuring parts meet quality standards. The position involves close attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Stand at the end of press machines to catch freshly stamped parts safely and efficiently.
  • Perform visual and manual inspection of parts for defects such as cracks, bends, burrs, or surface flaws.
  • Sort and separate acceptable parts from non-conforming ones based on quality criteria.
  • Stack or place approved parts in designated containers or racks following handling procedures.
  • Communicate with press operators and quality personnel regarding part quality or equipment concerns.
  • Record and report defective parts or recurring issues to the supervisor or quality team.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, disposing of scrap and debris properly.
  • Wear appropriate PPE and follow all safety guidelines related to press operations.
  • Support press changeovers by preparing materials and assisting operators as needed.
  • Participate in 5S and continuous improvement activities in the press shop.

  • Basic understanding of press shop safety practices and machine operation support.
Work Environment

Automotive manufacturing plant with exposure to laser machinery, metalworking equipment, noise, and heat. Required to wear PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, arm guards, hi-vis belt and steel-toe boots. Shift work, overtime, and weekend availability may be necessary based on production schedules.
