New York Air Brake, a Knorr-Bremse company, seeks a skilled welder/fabricator for our Springfield, MO operations. You will fit, weld, and assemble parts using diagrams and blueprints, and operate fabricating equipment to meet precise specifications.

This on-site role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, following procedures, and using gauges and torquing devices. No supervisory duties; join a historic leader in rail braking systems.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of related welding/fabrication experience.

Responsabilidades

• Operate Press Brake, Punch Break and other fabricating equipment.
• Identify serviceable vs. non-serviceable parts during the assembly process.
• Follow procedural guidelines during the fitting/welding process.
• Proper use of power and manual tools.
• Proper use of calibrated gauges, power and manual torquing devices.

Skills and Competencies

• Technical Capacity
  • Proven skills in Tig Welding, including stainless steel.
  • Proven skills in welding with GMAW, FCAW and/or GTAW processes
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted best practices and theory.
  • Good mechanical skills

  • Knowledge of shop use of measuring devices.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

The employee will be exposed to shop floor conditions, i.e. noise, heat, cold, dust/dirt etc. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
