Siemens AG in Sacramento, CA, is seeking a Fitter/Welder I to support fabrication of stainless-steel passenger rail car bodies in a fast-paced production environment. This second shift role focuses on welding, fitting, tracking, and assembling subassemblies from detailed drawings using jigs, fixtures, and advanced welding equipment.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, 1+ year MIG welding experience with stainless steel, basic English, and a general mechanical background.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED.
• 1+ year MIG welding experience with emphasis on Stainless Steel or completion of accredited weld education program.
• General mechanical background.
• Basic English skills - ability to read and understand written instructions and effectively communicate verbally.

Responsabilités

• Perform stainless steel welding, fitting, tracking, and assembly of passenger rail car bodies and subassemblies using detailed drawings, jigs, fixtures, and advanced welding equipment.
• Ensure all welds, assemblies, and finished products meet established welding standards, engineering specifications, dimensional tolerances, and quality requirements.
• Inspect and repair fabrication defects as needed while maintaining exceptional workmanship and attention to detail throughout the manufacturing process.
• Safely operate welding, hand, and power tools while adhering to all safety regulations, PPE requirements, and maintaining a clean, compliant work environment.
• Complete required work order and quality documentation, accurately track labor hours, and consistently meet production schedules, productivity goals, and budgeted labor targets with minimal supervision.
