Juilliard School is seeking a part-time, as-needed Stagehand for theater programing and stage operations in New York. You will construct scenery, build and install elements from drawings, and participate in scenery strikes while applying basic safe rigging techniques.

Weekend and evening work is required, and independence is essential. You will work under the Stage Operations team to support performances, events, and venue maintenance, ensuring safety and efficiency in all production tasks.

Qualificações

• Previous experience as a stagehand or equivalent in a performance/theatrical setting.
• Working knowledge of theatrical knots (e.g. clove hitch, bowline, trucker’s hitch, etc.).
• Ability to keep scheduled commitments and adapt quickly to changing priorities and timelines.
• Understand the mission of Juilliard and promote equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging.

Responsabilidades

• Construct scenery using industry techniques and materials.
• Build and install scenic elements from construction or designer drawings.
• Participate in strike of scenic elements.
• Implement basic safe rigging techniques for theater venues.
• Work weekends and evenings as needed.
• Act as run crew for performances and events under Stage Operations guidance.
• Theater maintenance and venue improvement projects.
