Job summary

La Jolla Playhouse in San Diego is seeking a Stage Management Apprentice to provide hands-on support throughout rehearsals and performances. This role is designed for early career stage managers aiming to deepen their skills in a fast-paced theatre environment. Responsibilities include supporting the stage management team, assisting with scripts and schedules, and maintaining a clean backstage environment. Apprentices receive mentorship and build professional connections essential for future careers in stage management. Hourly compensation at $17.75.

Qualifications

• Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Must have a calm, professional presence and be able to work collaboratively.
• Curiosity and eagerness to receive mentorship and feedback.

Responsibilities

• Support the Stage Manager and Assistant Stage Manager during rehearsals.
• Help run the rehearsal room tracking props and managing schedules.
• Assist with checking presets backstage before each run.

BA/BFA in Theatre or related field (helpful)
