Job summary

The Makeup Artist role at Six Flags Entertainment Corporation supports performances, events, and themed experiences across the park. You will create and apply various makeup looks for performers, including IP characters, aligning with design specifications from the Entertainment team.

You will also apply special effects makeup, maintain makeup stations, and assist with wig applications and quick changes during rehearsals and shows.

Qualifications

• Formal training in cosmetology, makeup artistry, theater production, or related discipline.
• Experience working in theme parks, theater productions, or live entertainment venues.
• Knowledge of airbrush makeup techniques.
• Experience handling, styling, maintaining, and caring for wigs and hairpieces.
• Experience with prosthetic application and removal.
• Portfolio showcasing beauty, theatrical, and SFX makeup work.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced entertainment environment.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Apply professional beauty makeup for performers, actors, dancers, and entertainers.
• Execute themed character and performance makeup looks per design specifications.
• Apply special effects makeup including aging, bruising, wounds, prosthetics, and airbrush effects.
• Collaborate with Entertainment staff to ensure consistency of character appearances.
• Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of makeup stations and tools.
• Assist with makeup touch-ups and quick changes during performances and events.
• Assist performers with wig applications and quick wig changes during rehearsals and shows.
• Clean, sanitize, detangle, restyle, and store wigs and related costume accessories.
• Follow park safety, health, and sanitation standards.
