Job summary

The Woodruff Arts Center is seeking a Stage Technician to safely operate the counterweight fly system during rehearsals, performances, and load-ins/load-outs. You will assist with installing scenery, drapery, and lighting, while supporting orchestral and hall events across Symphony Hall.

Ideal candidates will have 3+ years of stage crew experience, comfort with heights, and strong knowledge of rigging principles and safety practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-year stage crew experience preferred.
• Ability to work at heights and with loading bridges.
• Comfortable working in a live venue with production schedules.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Operate the counterweight fly system during rehearsals and performances.
• Balance, load, and unload counterweight arbor systems and perform line set inspections.
• Assist with installation and removal of stage drapery, screens, and scenery.
• Support orchestra shell and stage changeovers; participate in load-ins and strikes.
• Lead stagehands on equipment operation and assist with stage setup and restoration.
• Maintain stage systems and equipment, and keep maintenance records.
