Qualifications

• 3–5 years of relevant stage costume stitching experience.
• Experience with domestic and industrial sewing machines and sergers.
• Proficient in hand sewing.
• Knowledge of a variety of hand and machine sewing techniques.
• Ability to operate basic costume workroom equipment.
• Experience in garment construction.
• Ability to work consistently during heavy build and tech periods.
• Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively with a diverse team.

Responsibilities

• Assist Draper, Tailor, and Crafts teams with stitching, altering, and fitting costumes.
• Sew assigned costume pieces by hand or machine.
• Take direction from team leads and assistants on task execution.
• Complete hand and finish work as assigned.
• Complete projects safely and timely.
• Practice safe handling of common costume chemicals (detergents, dyes, paints, glues).
• Participate in cleaning and organizing costume spaces as needed.
• Assist with pulling, inventorying, and maintenance of costumes.
• Support mainstage costume repairs and fittings as needed.
• Assist in mainstage costume quality control before load-in.
• Help transport costumes for productions and rentals.
• Assist with maintenance and laundering of costumes.
