Job Description

The Staffing Office Coordinator is responsible for administrative services including staffing, scheduling, payroll, system orientation, and overall human resource support for the Nursing Department. The coordinator collaborates with Nursing Leadership to develop schedules based on staffing guidelines, models, and grids to meet patient care needs efficiently and cost-effectively. The role involves proactively securing staff for open shifts to ensure adequate coverage.

Responsibilities
  • Develop staffing schedules, forecast needs based on staffing matrices, and adjust for patient volume fluctuations.
  • Assist Nurse Leaders with personnel budget templates and productivity metrics.
  • Identify daily cost-saving opportunities to minimize overtime and 1:1 staffing.
  • Update schedules for sick calls, PTO, holidays, and shift changes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with union contracts.
  • Support time utilization analyses and review staffing trends with leadership.
  • Manage open shift requests and secure coverage.
  • Reassign staff as needed, adhering to policies and maintaining competencies.
  • Review and reconcile time entries, overtime, and prepare payroll reports.
  • Create reports for senior leadership using staffing systems.
  • Coordinate with HR, payroll, and finance departments.
  • Assist in preparing various reports on staffing and employee metrics.
  • Partner with Nursing Leadership to ensure license and certification compliance.
  • Conduct orientation and training related to staffing systems as needed.
  • Handle confidential disciplinary documentation.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
  • HS/GED with 4 years of related healthcare experience.
  • At least 2 years of related experience with an Associate's degree.
Additional Information

Position is non-bargaining unit, located at Mount Sinai Hospital. The salary range is $64,526.72 - $81,675 annually, depending on experience and education.
