Description

Administrative Functions
  1. Assist in maintaining a current listing of all resident care employee phone numbers and update the business office accordingly.
  2. Maintain daily tardy and absenteeism calendars and report issues to the Director of Nursing Services (DNS).
  3. Coordinate employee scheduling, complete employee records, and assist in staffing and staffing-related reports.
  4. Answer calls regarding staffing, scheduling, and applicant inquiries; coordinate interviews.
  5. Ensure new hires have schedules and time cards prior to orientation.
  6. Consult with staff on staffing needs, make reports, and develop good interdepartmental relationships.
  7. Review complaints and grievances related to staffing and report as necessary.
  8. Maintain confidentiality of employee and resident information and report any breaches.
Committee Functions
  1. Attend facility committee meetings and prepare reports on staffing issues.
  2. Implement committee recommendations as instructed.
Personnel Functions
  1. Assist in interviewing CNAs and maintaining employee records and certifications.
  2. Report incidents of fraud and ensure computer security protocols are followed.
Staff Development
  1. Coordinate orientation and in-service training for new staff and existing personnel.
Safety and Sanitation
  1. Report unsafe conditions and follow safety procedures.
Equipment and Supply Functions
  1. Report supply needs and ensure work areas are clean and supplies are stored properly.
Budget and Planning
  1. Report suspected fraud related to billing and cost reports.
Supervisory Requirements

As Staffing Coordinator, you are delegated the authority and responsibility to carry out your duties effectively.

Qualifications
  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  3. Ability to apply mathematical concepts and make independent decisions.
  4. Supportive team member with patience, tact, and enthusiasm.
  5. Physical ability to move, lift, and assist residents as needed.
Work Environment

Work involves moving throughout the nursing area, dealing with residents and staff, and responding to emergencies. It may involve exposure to hazards and infectious diseases, and requires adherence to safety protocols.
