Job summary

Renesas Electronics Corporation is seeking an experienced Engineer for post‑silicon validation and characterization. The role emphasizes silicon bring‑up, high‑speed analog and mixed‑signal testing, and cross‑functional collaboration with design, system, and product teams.

You will drive test methodologies, automate validation plans, and produce clear reports on electrical and timing parameters for memory‑buffer devices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years hands‑on lab experience in high‑speed analog and mixed‑signal devices.
• Strong understanding of signaling levels, termination architectures, and signal integrity tradeoffs.
• Expertise with high‑speed interface test equipment (BERT, oscilloscope, signal generators, etc.).
• Python scripting for test automation and analysis.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Solid understanding of memory interface architecture and DDR5 is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial silicon bring‑up and debugging.
• Validate high‑speed Rx/Tx paths, PLLs, jitter analysis, and eye diagrams using high bandwidth oscilloscopes and BERT.
• Develop and execute post‑silicon validation and characterization test plans for critical electrical parameters.
• Collaborate with design, system, and product teams to debug and optimize performance.
• Generate clear, consistent, and well‑structured reports.
• Develop test methodologies and repeatable procedures for reproducible results.
• Support board‑level debugging and signal integrity analyses.

Job Description

This position requires an experienced Engineer with a strong background in post silicon validation and characterization. The ideal candidate must have hands‑on experience with silicon bring‑up and validation, including high-speed analog and mixed‑signal device characterization, driving debug efforts, developing test methodologies, and collaborating cross‑functionally with design, system, and product engineering teams.

• 5+ years of hands‑on lab experience in high‑speed Analog and Mixed‑signal devices.
• Strong understanding of signaling levels, termination architectures, and signal integrity tradeoffs in systems.
• Expertise in using typical high speed interface test equipment (BERT, High BW Oscilloscope, Signal generators and Compliance S/W, etc.).
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python) for test automation and analysis.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong understanding of memory interface architecture, interface protocols, standards and operation, preferably with DDR5.
