Job summary

Based in Chicago with a hybrid work arrangement (3 days in office), you will collaborate across Product, Eng, Sales, Trading, and Compliance to deliver end-to-end experiences. A strong fintech background and portfolio demonstrating product thinking are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience as a product-minded designer who can move from ambiguous problems to clear product experiences.
• Strong experience designing complex fintech/wealth management or financial advisor platforms.
• Experience leading discovery, not just responding to requirements.
• Proven ability to translate data/insights into design decisions.
• Ability to simplify dense financial data without losing accuracy or trust.
• Strong data visualization, dashboards, and workflow-heavy application skills.
• Balance user needs, business goals, regulatory considerations, and technical constraints.
• Direct experience using session replay/analytics tools to inform design strategy.
• Experience creating or evolving design systems for fintech/SaaS.
• Familiarity with advisor workflows and client-facing investment materials.
• Hands-on familiarity with frontend concepts (React/TS) and Material UI.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Product to define user problems and shape product direction before solutions are built.
• Run or support discovery through interviews, conversations, and prototype testing.
• Own end-to-end user journeys, analyze behavior, and validate concepts with data.
• Champion analytics by owning Fullstory; derive insights and educate the team.
• Translate complex financial mechanics into clear workflows, dashboards, and reports.
• Design intuitive experiences for discovery, comparison, analysis, and advisor/client communication.
• Define scalable UX patterns for search, filtering, comparison, and lifecycle events.
• Create wireframes, prototypes, journey maps, and high-fidelity designs.
• Collaborate with Engineering to ensure practical, scalable implementations.
• Maintain and expand the design system using Figma.
• Work with Sales, Trading, and Compliance to support regulated workflows.
• Identify friction in workflows and simplify complex data into actionable experiences.
• Think beyond current release to support future products and personalization.
