Job Overview

This team is part of the Research and Advanced Design division working on exciting next‑generation technologies. The role is located in San Diego, CA or El Segundo, CA and is part of the RAD organization.
Responsibilities
- Orchestrate lab, ground and flight integration and developmental testing for NGAS, ensuring engineering tests serve developmental objectives and mechanisms are in place for execution.
- Review status of test requirements, manage schedules, and prepare test plans and test reports.
- Identify test and program risks, issues, and pressures, and develop mitigation and closure plans.
- Coordinate ground test engineering and operations, aircraft modifications for testing, and maintain frequent interaction with Engineering teams in Rancho Bernardo, Space Park, El Segundo, and Palmdale to meet cost and schedule targets.
- Provide program leadership with staffing forecasts and ensure proper staffing for the Test Statement of Work.
- Lead test engineering personnel, maintain excellent communication skills, work in a matrix environment, and support extended shifts and occasional weekends as needed.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM field and at least 12 years of relevant Ground and Flight test military/professional experience, orMaster’s Degree in a STEM field and at least 10 years of relevant experience, orPhD and at least 8 years of relevant experience.
- Experience leading flight test programs.
- Experience with program risk, opportunity and issue management processes.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Top Secret or higher clearance.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable timeframe as determined by business needs.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 2 additional years of experience beyond the basic qualifications.
- Experience leading a test team in a dynamic work environment.
- Excellent organizational and written communication skills, with project management planning and presentation skills.
- Proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Power Point, and Word.
- Demonstrated ability to create trusted relationships.
- Experience with Jira and Confluence tools.
- Active U.S. Government Top Secret clearance with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled in Continuous Evaluation.
- Prior clearance to a Special Access Program (SAP) or Special Compartmentalized Information (SCI) Primary Level.
Salary
Salary range: $161,000 – $241,400. Base pay is determined by scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Eligible employees may receive overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and, for upper‑level positions, long‑term incentives.
