Responsibilities

  • Prepare and assist with the review of federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts, and fiduciaries.

  • Assist with quarterly estimates, tax projections, and year-end tax planning activities.
  • Analyze financial information and tax documents to identify reporting issues and planning opportunities.
  • Research federal, state, and local tax regulations and communicate findings to management.
  • Assist with responses to tax notices and audit requests.

About the Opportunity

Our client is a well-established Family Office serving high-net-worth individuals, partnerships, trusts, and investment entities. This organization provides comprehensive financial, tax, investment, and wealth management services and is seeking a motivated Staff Tax Accountant to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a public accounting professional looking to leverage their tax foundation while gaining exposure to complex high-net-worth tax structures and sophisticated partnership environments.

Position Summary

The Staff Tax Accountant will support the preparation and review of federal and state tax returns for high-net-worth individuals, partnerships, trusts, and related entities. The ideal candidate will have a strong public accounting foundation, experience working through at least two busy seasons, and a desire to build a long-term career within a family office environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and assist with the review of individual, partnership, trust, and fiduciary tax returns.
  • Support tax compliance and tax planning initiatives for high-net-worth families and their related entities.
  • Assist with quarterly estimates, tax projections, and year-end tax planning activities.
  • Analyze financial information and tax documents to identify reporting issues and planning opportunities.
  • Work closely with family office leadership, external advisors, and investment professionals.
  • Research federal, state, and local tax regulations and communicate findings to management.
  • Assist with responses to tax notices and audit requests.
  • Prepare tax workpapers and maintain supporting documentation.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • CPA or CPA eligible required
  • Minimum of 2 years of public accounting tax experience with at least two completed busy seasons.
  • Experience preparing partnership returns and working with flow-through entities required.
  • Exposure to high-net-worth individual taxation, trusts, estates, or family office clients preferred.
  • Background from a small- to mid-sized public accounting firm preferred.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state tax compliance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and tax preparation software.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Family office, wealth management, or private investment client experience.
  • Experience working with complex ownership structures and multi-entity organizations.
