Northrop Grumman Mission Systems’ Baltimore and Partnered Sites division seeks a Staff Systems Integration & Test (SI&T) Engineer Lead in Baltimore, MD to support the Airborne Multifunction Sensors Business Unit. Candidates bring strong production follow-through, mechanical insight, and experience in mode and systems integration and EVM.

Responsibilities include coordinating with engineering leadership, driving system acceptance testing, and leading cross-functional teams across IPTs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in STEM with 12+ years, Master’s with 10, or Ph.D. with 8; additional 4 years may substitute degree.
  • Experience in multi-disciplinary teams and EMD programs.
  • Experience with mode integration and system acceptance testing.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • U.S. citizenship and active Secret clearance required.

Job Overview

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems' Baltimore and Partnered Sites division is seeking a Staff Systems Integration & Test (SI&T) Engineer Lead in Baltimore, MD to support the Airborne Multifunction Sensors Business Unit. Candidates must possess strong knowledge of production and system hardware follow, a mechanical background, and experience in mode and systems integration, earned value management (EVM), and system acceptance testing.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with engineering leadership and cross-functional teams to meet program and delivery schedules.
  • Perform production follow of systems through their life cycle to ensure sell‑off and delivery.
  • Carry out system acceptance testing and lab asset configurations.
  • Support all mode integration shifts and troubleshoot issues.
  • Accountable to Program Manager/Director for Systems I&T cost, schedule, and technical execution.
  • Lead horizontal integration across engineering disciplines and IPTs to ensure successful execution of the technical statement of work.
  • Manage configuration and data management processes and produce Systems I&T product verification plans and reports.
  • Communicate accomplishments, status, and challenges to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform CAM responsibilities as needed, reporting to program leadership.
  • Participate in sell‑off and delivery of systems, coordinating with Mission and Quality Assurance.
  • Develop and peer‑review test documentation, proposals, and technical volumes.
  • Decompose program and system requirements into test requirements.
  • Define test facility requirements and support test planning.
  • Serve as liaison between union technicians and supported program.
  • Frequent interaction with suppliers, including travel to supplier sites.
  • Support management of program risk database.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 12 years of experience, Master’s with 10 years, or Ph.D. with 8 years; additional 4 years can be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience working in a multi‑disciplinary team environment.
  • Experience with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Development (EMD) programs, including mode integration and system acceptance testing.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Experience tracking milestones and executing tasks per program schedules.
  • Proficiency in generating technical documents and using software/data processing tools (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, programming languages).
  • Understanding of common Test Engineering methodologies and practices.
  • U.S. citizenship required; active U.S. Government Secret clearance and ability to obtain/maintain Special Program Access.
  • Knowledge of radar systems.
  • Understanding of Systems Engineering concepts (requirements analysis, verification planning, execution).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of EMD and production system hardware follow and integration, mechanical background, and EVM experience.
  • Relevant flight and laboratory test experience.
  • At least 2 years serving as Program Manager, Deputy Program Manager, technical or program lead, IPT lead, or CAM responsible for delivering program tasks, milestones, or contract deliverables.
  • At least 2 years supporting development, integration, testing, or production of radar or related sensor systems.
  • Experience leading or coordinating activities across dispersed teams, including collaboration with personnel at multiple sites or remote environments.
  • Experience with EP/EMI and environmental qualification testing.
Salary & Compensation

Primary level salary range: $169,000.00 – $253,600.00. Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and long‑term incentives. Benefits include health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company‑paid holidays, and paid time off.
