Job Overview

This Systems Engineer role focuses on the development and fielding of target tracking and sensor fusion systems for advanced multi‑function RF subsystems at Northrop Grumman.

Relocation & Travel

Relocation assistance may be available. The position requires 10% travel and 100% on‑site work. A U.S. Government Secret Clearance will be required at start, with Special Program Access to be obtained beforehand.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze, shape, and integrate data from diverse sensor modes (e.g., long‑range search, radar waveforms, electronic surveillance).
  • Develop parametric representations, visualizations, and data‑driven analysis early in the system lifecycle to support sensor requirements and use‑case validation.
  • Support integration of sensor modes and trackers from digital simulations to sensor labs and test aircraft.
  • Engage with customers to balance functional and performance requirements for multi‑function operation.
  • Maintain existing systems, perform minor adaptations, and implement incremental improvements within defined boundaries.
  • Ensure performance objectives are met using existing documentation such as Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
  • Utilize MATLAB and C++ for basic analysis and code modifications.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with 12 years of experience, or Master’s degree with 10 years, or Ph.D. with 8 years in STEM or related fields (additional experience may substitute for a degree).
  • U.S. citizenship and current/active U.S. Government Secret Clearance.
  • Ability to obtain Special Program Access prior to start.
  • Experience with multi‑target tracking, adaptive processing, or sensor fusion algorithms.
  • Experience with MATLAB or equivalent programming/analysis languages.
  • Experience with RF signal processing or RF applications.
  • Working knowledge of systems engineering principles, processes, and effective communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current/active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance (or applicable).
  • Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in a STEM discipline with radar techniques and signal processing electives.
  • Previous approval for Special Access Programs.
Benefits
