Job summary

Northrop Grumman MissionSystems seeks a Staff Systems Engineer with a Signal Processing background to work in Sacramento, California. You will join a team developing signal processing solutions for SIGINT, using GPUs and SDRs for advanced algorithms.

The role requires a strong foundation in communications engineering, experience with detection, demodulation, and waveform classification, and the ability to guide hardware/software development and platform deployment. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or science field with substantial experience in signal processing.
• Experience with SIGINT concepts, modulation recognition, demodulation, and bit-stream analysis.
• Ability to detect, demodulate, and classify unknown waveforms without protocol knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Perform architecture trades, design analysis, and performance modeling.
• Provide engineering support for hardware development efforts.
• Design detection and characterization algorithms for RF communication signals.
• Implement detection, demodulation, and classification of unknown waveforms.
• Test signal processing algorithms and receivers in a lab environment.
• Design, test, and produce detection, characterization, and geolocation algorithms.
• Deploy core products on platforms such as aircraft, drones, ships.
• Develop TDOA/FDOA geolocation algorithms.
• Characterize SIGINT signals for modulation recognition and bit-stream analysis.
