Job summary

Advanced Measurement Technology (AMT), part of AMETEK’s Materials Analysis Division, is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. You will design, integrate, and support radiation detection systems for mobile search platforms and handheld detectors, requiring system-level expertise across hardware, embedded firmware, and manufacturability.

You will lead cross-functional collaboration with electrical, firmware/software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams, prepare verification

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Systems/Physics or related field.
6+ years in hardware-integrated instrumentation or high-reliability products.
Experience leading or supporting new product development from concept through production release.
Experience transitioning prototypes into repeatable production with manufacturing and quality teams.

Responsibilities

Support design, integration, and production support of radiation detection systems.
Balance system performance with size, weight, power, cost, and ruggedness.
Evaluate and integrate detector technologies (scintillators, silicon sensors, neutron detectors).
Develop electronics architectures for detector biasing, analog front ends, pulse processing, ADC interfaces, and power management.
Collaborate across cross-functional teams to drive product lifecycle from concept to sustaining support.
