Job summary

Prime Intellect in San Francisco is building the open frontier AI infrastructure. The role focuses on creating a scalable sandbox platform that orchestrates secure microVMs, sandboxes, and high-performance execution across CPU and GPU workers.

You will shape the control plane, APIs, and CLI to support reinforcement learning and agentic workflows at scale. You will work with research, applied research, customers, and the broader engineering team from discovery to production adoption.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building production distributed systems.
• Go, Rust, or C++ systems programming experience.
• High-agency engineer with ownership of design and implementation.
• Strong Linux fundamentals; depth in virtualization, networking, or storage.
• Experience deploying production systems at scale.

Responsibilities

• Build the control plane that places sandbox workloads across CPU and GPU workers.
• Build node-level execution systems that launch and supervise secure microVMs, coordinate storage and networking, and move sandboxes from assignment to execution.
• Own the sandbox product surface, including APIs, SDK, and CLI, and evolve it to support RL and agentic workflows at scale.
• Collaborate with research, applied research, customers, and engineering to take problems from discovery through design, implementation, and production adoption.
