HopeTree Family Services seeks a Staff Supervisor to oversee Direct Support Professionals in a DDM program (Group Home, Day Services, Community Engagement, etc.). The role emphasizes a person-centered, strengths-based approach, coaching and mentoring DSPs, and coordinating day-to-day operations, scheduling, and training on-site.
The position requires leadership, emotional maturity, and the ability to support individuals with I/DD while maintaining compliance with DDM policies and HTFS values.
The Staff Supervisor monitors and provides day-to-day supervision to Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in a DDM program (Group Home, Day Services, Community Engagement, etc.). This includes coordination of services and supports for all individuals receiving DDM services, such as maintaining a safe and inclusive environment, providing opportunities for individuals to maximize physical, emotional, social, intellectual, and spiritual growth. The Staff Supervisor models a person-centered philosophy, strengths-based approach, celebration of abilities, and provides coaching, teaching, and mentoring to DSPs. The Staff Supervisor is responsible for coordinating day-to-day operations of the program including overall supervision, scheduling, and training of DSPs.
This position requires at least one year of documented experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities (I/DD). A Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Human Services or a related field is preferred. This position requires at least one year of supervisory experience in a Human Services or related field. The Manager must demonstrate the ability to provide exceptional leadership, emotional maturity, and patience necessary to understand and support the social, psychological, and emotional needs of individuals with I/DD. The Manager must demonstrate knowledge, understanding, and ability to implement and apply HopeTree Family Services Core Competencies and Core Values. This position requires an acceptable driving record and valid driver’s license, the ability to lift 50 pounds, and the ability to represent the agency in the community in a positive manner.
This position is based within a HopeTree program setting (Group Home or office-based). This role is one of presence, requiring the Staff Supervisor to be on-site and engaged in day-to-day operations. Travel is required for training and regularly-scheduled team meetings, which may include overnight stays. The typical work schedule is Monday – Friday between the hours of 8:00 a – 10 p and includes 24-hour on-call responsibilities. There will be occasions when the Staff Supervisor is required to provide coverage or support with an emergency situation during evening, overnight, weekend, or holiday hours. Flexibility is granted to the regular schedule when communicated in advance with the Regional Manager or Regional Director that adjustment is needed based on such situations, provided there is adequate coverage of the program. This role requires participation in on-call responsibilities after business hours, overnight, on weekends and/or holidays.
