Job summary

Arcadis in the United States is hiring a Staff Structural Engineer (PE or Senior EIT) for a hybrid role. You will lead design efforts, mentor junior engineers, and deliver high‑quality solutions across manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, utilities and rail projects.

Requirements include 6+ years of structural engineering experience and a PE license or Senior EIT preparing to sit for the PE exam within six months. Some travel within the U.S. is possible.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of relevant structural engineering project experience.
• PE license or Senior EIT candidate aiming to write their PE exam within 6 months.
• Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• Strong problem-solving and initiative.
• Excellent working knowledge of USA National codes and standards (IBC, ACI, AISC).
• Proficient in RISA, ETABS, BIM tools, Revit, AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Engineer of Record to set codes, loads, and analysis methods; seismic analysis experience is a plus.
• Perform complex technical work with senior review.
• Coordinate with multiple disciplines, staff, clients, and subcontractors; communicate clearly.
• Develop calculations, plans, specs, and other contract documents.
• Assess details and select engineering alternatives.
• Support Construction Administration including RFIs and submittals.
• Travel for project-related activities as needed.

Role description:

Arcadis is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer with 6 or more years of project experience to join our growing team. If you’re motivated by tackling complex structural challenges, working with a wide range of materials, leading technical efforts, and collaborating within multidisciplinary teams, this role is an excellent fit. You’ll also have clear opportunities to grow into senior technical or project leadership roles as your career progresses.

In this position, you will lead key project components, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to innovative, high‑quality design solutions for projects across sectors such as manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, technology, utilities, and rail. Our team welcomes either a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or an experienced EIT preparing to sit for the PE exam within the next six months. Some travel may be required for project work and client visits within the United States.

Role accountabilities:

• Work with the Engineer of Record (EOR) to establish codes, loads, analysis methods, and tools; seismic analysis experience is a plus.
• Perform technical work with an increased level of complexity with senior review
• Work directly with a variety of engineering disciplines, office/project staff, client, and subcontractors, throughout the project life cycle, and have clear and concise, oral and written communication skills
• Develop calculations, plans, specifications, and other contract documents.
• Exercise judgment on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
• Perform Construction Administration duties, including completing field observation reports, responding to RFIs, submittal reviews.
• Traveling, as needed, for project-related activities such as client meetings and site visits.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• 6 or more years of relevant structural engineering project experience
• Professional Engineer (PE) License or Senior EIT candidate looking to write their PE exam in the next 6 months
• Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
• Strong problem-solving skills with critical thinking and initiative
• Excellent working knowledge of all USA National codes and standards, such as IBC, ACI, AISC, etc.
• Strong technical software skills related to: RISA, ETABS, BIM tools, Revit, AutoCAD
• Effective communication skills - oral and written
