Job summary

SK hynix memory solutions America Inc. in San Jose, CA, is seeking a senior test engineering lead for PCIe/NVMe eSSDs. You will design and run validation plans, coordinate cross‑functional teams, and drive reliability through rigorous debugging and analysis.

The role requires 5+ years in enterprise storage or semiconductors, deep knowledge of PCIe/NVMe protocols, and hands‑on automation with Python, C, or C++. We offer a competitive salary and robust benefits package.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in enterprise storage or semiconductor environments.
• Experience with physical protocol analyzers and trace evaluation tools.
• Mastery of PCIe Gen4/5/6, NVMe 2.0+, SMBus/I2C.
• Python, C, or C++ for hardware test automation and interacting with configuration registers.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to design, implement and execute comprehensive test plans for PCIe and NVMe enterprise solid‑state drives (eSSDs).
• Manage test plans, oversee testing progress, identify issues, and report findings to ensure design specifications and customer requirements.
• Perform initial triage of failures and collaborate with SOC, FW, HW teams to address and resolve issues.
• Perform test gap analysis to ensure reliable product integration.
• Work with FAE/CAE to address customer inquiries, debug and resolve issues with prompt communication.
• Foster open communication channels to enhance overall product quality.

About the Team:

At SK Hynix Memory Solutions, our team’s dedication to advancing enterprise SSD technologies through rigorous PCIe NVMe validation and testing has established us as industry leaders. Our focus on system‑level tests, feature validation, and meticulous bug analysis underpins the reliability of our products. Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team to design, implement and execute comprehensive test plans for PCIe and NVMe enterprise solid‑state drives (eSSDs).
• Manage test plans, oversee the progress of testing, identify potential issues, and report findings to ensure compliance with design specifications, as well as with customer standards and requirements.
• Perform initial triage of failures and collaborate closely with other teams, including SOC, FW, and HW, to address and resolve failures with coordinated efforts.
• Perform test gap analysis to ensure seamless integration and reliability of the product
• Work with FAE/CAE to address customer inquiries, debug and resolve issues by maintaining clear communication and prompt responses.
• Foster open communication channels to facilitate efficient problem‑solving and enhance the overall product quality.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands‑on enterprise storage or semiconductor experience
• Proven experience with physical protocol analyzers and trace evaluation tools.
• Mastery of low‑level storage protocols, including PCIe (Gen 4/5/6/), NVMe 2.0+, NVMe-MI, and SMBus / I2C.
• Python / C / C++ for hardware test automation and interacting with PCIe configuration registers / firmware registers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Linux Kernel and drivers
• Knowledge of NAND
• Experience with Embedded Firmware
• Strong understanding of storage architectures and system‑level debugging is also beneficial.

COMPENSATION: $110,000/yr - $175,000/yr
