Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related STEM field.
  • Minimum 8 years experience for level 4 or 12 years for level 5 in electrical design engineering.
  • Experience with production, fabrication and test.
  • Experience in networked subsystem design, power design and distribution, interconnect diagrams, wire harness design.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Primary responsibilities are cable harnesses design, power analysis, and interconnect diagrams for COTS and GFE equipment.
  • Engage in research, development, design and testing of electrical components, equipment, systems and networks.
  • Travel to customer sites within the continental United States as needed.

This position will support one or more projects performing design engineering for integration of Command and Control systems, such as radios, networks, antennas, and power equipment, in support of Department of Defense projects. The selected candidate will work in a dynamic people-focused environment where he/she will interact with production, program management, service providers, equipment suppliers, and customers. Primary responsibilities are cable harnesses design, power analysis, and interconnect diagrams for COTS and GFE equipment. Additional tasks include research, development, design, and testing electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks.Basic Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Electrical or Computer Science Engineering or related STEM degreeMinimum 8 years experience (for level 4) or 12 years experience (for level 5) in electrical design engineeringExperience supporting designs in production, fabrication and test.Experience with product design, integration of subsystems that include network communication (Wired and Wireless), power design and distribution, interconnect diagrams, wire harness/cable design.Experience in performance of trade studies to identify components that meet system and subsystem requirements.Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Visio, Cameo, AutoCAD, NX, or other industry-standard software frequently used for electrical CAD design.Ability to support periodic travel to customer sites in the continental United States.Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and nontechnical personnel.Ability to obtain Secret Security Clearance.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with system and facility grounding and bondingUnderstanding of the following MIL Standards MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464 , MIL-STD-188-124 , and MIL-STD-1275Experience designing cable harnesses using MIL circular connectors, MIL-DTL-38999 (Series 1, 2, and 3), MIL-DTL-5051, MIL-DTL-22992, MIL-DTL-26482, MIL-DTL-83526, and MIL-C-85049.Experience designing systems using single and multimode fiber opticsExperience with RF relative to radio design, tactical radio systems and amplifier/antenna fundamentalsExperience using PLM/PDM and MRP SystemsUnderstanding of IPC-620 Workmanship StandardsProven track record in development of power solutions (AC, DC, Vehicle Power Systems, Battery, Solar)Proven problem-solving skills to rapidly address issues identified during production and installationExperience with managed network devices and systemsExperience with wireless point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, and multipoint communication devices and systemsExperience in leading small product development groupsExperience working in an autonomous work environment on complex projectsExperience in working on business or engineering full-cycle projects from project inception through system sustainmentPrimary Level Salary Range: $135,800.00 - $203,600.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $169,000.00 - $253,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
