Job summary

Insight Global seeks a Senior Application / Solution Architect to shape and rebuild the organization’s application architecture practice. This role leads architecture reviews, develops proofs of concept, and balances business needs with technical best practices at an enterprise scale.

The ideal candidate has deep hands-on Java development, strong architectural judgment, and can influence teams and leadership without ramp-up time.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as an Architect working with Modern Java Projects (Microservices, APIs, Containerization).
• 10+ years of IT Java application development (Version 17.0-21.0) using Spring.
• Understand containerization with Kubernetes or OpenShift.
• Understand Horizontal & Vertical Scaling and its impact on performance.
• Excellent communications skills to tailor messaging to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to translate business requirements into practical architecture decisions.
• Experience making real work tradeoff decisions (time, cost, resources vs. architectural purity).
• Ability to apply architecture patterns.
• Hands-on approach to work.

This individual will play a critical role in shaping and rebuilding the organization’s application architecture practice. The ideal candidate brings deep hands‑on application development experience, strong architectural judgment, and the ability to influence teams and leadership without requiring ramp‑up time or hand‑holding. This role works closely with application and operational teams, leads architecture reviews, develops proofs of concept, and ensures that architectural decisions balance business needs, timelines, and technical best practices at an enterprise scale.
