Title of position: Staff Software Systems Engineer

Position type: Full time

Reports to: Director of Software Applications Engineering

Work authorization: Applicants must have legal authorization to work in the country where the role will be performed.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

• Ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements.
• Write clean, reusable, scalable and secure code for deployment adhering to standard methodologies.
• Create and review technical documentation and specifications, as necessary.
• Design solutions, establish best practices and introduce/implement new technologies.
• Design systems that are scalable and performant to handle the increasing demands of our users.
• Conduct thorough code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure code quality, security and maintainability.
• Deliver applications based on pre‑existing designs or other client requirements.
• Bring in best‑in‑class engineering practices and passionately drive their implementation such as Test Driven Development and Design Principles.
• Complete exposure to the entire Product Life Cycle is a MUST.
• Backend developer with advanced backend skills (Dockers, Kubernetes, GlusterFS, Clustering).
• Solid knowledge of algorithms and design patterns with coding experience in GoLang, C, Java, Python, shell scripting.
• Microservices‑based architecture and their best practices. Hands‑on experience with Docker containers, Kubernetes (K8s, K3s), Helm charts.
• Good understanding of IPC mechanisms, multi‑threading/routines, Network programming and object‑oriented methodologies.
• DB concepts and deployment models – MySQL/GORM/NoSQL/Clustering/Postgres/Redis/MariaDb.
• Messaging services like RabbitMQ/NATS/Kafka and clustering.
• Experience with webhooks/websockets/API gateways/Nginx.
• Security protocols and technologies such as OAuth2, AAA, RBAC, LDAP, HTTPS, Certs, Syslog/RELP.
• Experience in API design using OpenAPI/OpenConfig/GNMI/GRPC/REST/NetConf.
• Sound data/modeling techniques and tools used for modeling such as YANG, UML, JSON.
• Agile development model with CI/CD, Jenkins pipeline and working knowledge of Git environments.
• Demonstrable ability to generalize various data inputs into well‑formed models exposed to North Bound agents via REST APIs.
• Design concepts for alert and notification systems for large enterprise solutions.
• Have excellent problem‑solving skills, attention to detail and a passion for building high‑quality products.
• Strong communication skills, both technical and non‑technical, with ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional global teams across different time zones.
• Self‑starter attitude and ability to make decisions independently.

Salary & Benefits

Salary: Up to USD 170,000, depending on qualifications, experience and region, plus benefits.
