Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC in Denver is seeking an experienced Salesforce Apex engineer to design and maintain scalable Apex solutions on the Salesforce platform for Sales and CX teams, leveraging AI coding assistants throughout the development lifecycle.

The role requires 6+ years in software engineering with 4+ years on Salesforce, SF CLI, and release management; two-day onboarding travel to the office is required. Cash compensation ranges by location, with equity in addition.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 4+ years developing on the Salesforce platform in Apex.
• Salesforce Platform Developer I and/or Application Architect certification(s).
• Strong understanding of Salesforce platform architecture with experience using the sf CLI and release management best practices.
• Fluent, daily use of AI coding assistants across the development lifecycle with strong judgment on when to apply them.
• Comfortable writing well-structured, maintainable code, including in codebases outside Salesforce.

About the Team:

You'll join the Application Engineering team, which supports the platforms we use to deliver exceptional Sales and CX interactions. Our platforms have tremendous scale, and the work we do here directly shapes how the rest of the company operates. We challenge the status quo, advocate for scalable technical solutions, and hold a high bar for what "great" looks like - while staying grounded in translating ambiguous requirements into real business value.

Here's what you'll do day-to-day:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable Apex solutions on the Salesforce platform that support our Sales and CX teams

• Use AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code or equivalent) throughout the development lifecycle to write, review, debug, and document code

• Oversee ongoing improvements to deployed features and measure their impact

• Apply Salesforce platform architecture and change/release management best practices, using sf cli for deployments

• Write well-structured, easily maintainable, and well-documented code

• Build, test, and debug reliable production systems at scale, ideally real-time, event-driven, or high-throughput

Here's what we're looking for:

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 4+ years developing on the Salesforce platform in Apex

• Salesforce Platform Developer I and/or Application Architect certification(s)

• Strong understanding of Salesforce platform architecture, with experience using the sf CLI and Salesforce change/release management best practices

• Fluent, daily use of AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code or equivalent) across the development lifecycle - writing, reviewing, debugging, and documenting code - with strong judgment on when and how to apply them

• Comfortable writing well-structured, maintainable, well-documented code, including in codebases outside of Salesforce (Ruby on Rails experience a plus)

• Proven track record building, testing, and debugging reliable production systems at scale

• Skilled at translating ambiguous requirements into business value and advocating for scalable technical solutions

• Experience in regulated industries preferred

Please note that a two day travel to a the company office for onboarding is required for this position.

Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $163,000-$204,000 in Denver & most remote locations, and $197,000-$247,000 for San Francisco & New York. Stock equity is additional. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.

the company has physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 days per week (or more depending on role). The same office expectations apply to all Symmetry roles, the company's subsidiary, whose physical office is in Scottsdale.

Note: The San Francisco office expectations encompass both the San Francisco and San Jose metro areas.
