Job summary

Google is hiring software engineers to advance Model-as-a-Service (MaaS) on Google Cloud, enabling scalable deployment of GenAI models. You will contribute to large-scale distributed systems, ML tooling, and AI safety considerations, with opportunities to switch teams as projects evolve.

In-person interviews are part of the hiring process, and compensation reflects Google’s market standards, including base pay, a target bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience is required.
• 8 years of software development experience.
• 5 years testing, launching software products, and 3 years of software design/architecture.
• 5 years of ML design and ML infrastructure (model deployment/evaluation/data processing/debugging/finetuning).
• Experience integrating generative AI tools or LLM interfaces into workflows.
• Experience with Kubernetes, C++, Go programming.

Responsibilities

• Build infrastructure for model creators to generate business with their models.
• Build a platform for partners to manage their services on Vertex.
• Collaborate with sister teams to bring optimized models and serving techniques (e.g., prefix caching, cache-aware routing).
• Build infrastructure for onboarding open and closed source models to Google Cloud.
• Scale and maintain existing Model-as-a-service deployments.
